We all need water to survive. We need water to grow the crops that feed us. We need water to transport cargo and power our homes. We have all witnessed the devastation that flood waters can bring and the power of water to wash away roads, trees, cars, and homes. Water gives life and takes life away. Water cannot be blamed for its appeal or its danger. Many times it is man who makes the water dangerous. We have built the dams to stop water from flowing where nature intended and we have built our bathrooms full of hard, slick surfaces.
Fortunately, man came up with the idea of the shower chair as well. Shower chairs offer a sturdy seat, a firm backrest, and rubber gripped feet to stabilize you in the shower. While seated you can take care of your personal hygiene and not tire. Shaving becomes easier. While seated on a shower chair, it is easier to wash your lower extremities. You no longer have to balance on one foot to scrub the other. You do not have to be elderly or infirm to appreciate the safety benefits of a shower chair—you could just be clumsy like me! You do always have to respect the power of water and make your bathroom as safe as possible.
